I figure the two line bio I had for the first 2+ yrs of my LJ existence is probably overdue for an upgrade.
So to that end, I present you with the Sylphon Q&A session/cheat sheet:
Q: Is your name really Eagle?
A: Yes, it's my middle name.
Q: How did you get that name?
A: It was picked out a hat at a truth or dare game my parents played. (I'm kidding). Actually it's a long story, but it's not necessary to the plot.
Q: What does Sylphon mean?
A: it means that my usual user names were taken before I got to LJ so I had to scramble and pick something else from the various worlds I'm on. I never realized I'd use LJ so much or that I'd go to conventions or parties and have to pronounce my user name. Oops. Life was a lot easier when my user name was just "Dream' or something else equally easy.
Q: How do you pronounce 'Sylphon'?
A: I pronounce it “sil'-ven” but I'll also allow "sylph-en". Really though, it's open to interpretations. Eagle is easier though.
Q: What is your purity score?
A: Well now, that would be telling wouldn't it?
Q: How often do you change your displayed LJ name?
A: As often as the mood strikes me. I keep a list of past names used. If you're interested in seeing the list, email me and ask.
Q: How long have you been online?
A: Since I woke up.
Q: What other user names have you used?
A: No way could I remember them all (at least off the top of my head). The main ones are usually 'Dream', 'Sylphon', 'Arafel/Araphel', 'Jadling', 'Eagle' & 'Suture' though I have had waaaaay too many over the years.
Q: Did you pick the name 'Dream' from 'The Sandman' series by Neil Gaiman?
A: Nope. I've used it since the early-to-mid 80's. I am a huge fan of 'The Sandman' and its spinoffs though.
Q: Where did 'if it's too weird for Eagle - it's too weird for you' come from?
A: College. I went to UNH and it was the saying in my mini-dorm. I was generally the weirdest person around so I became the measure. Someone even made me a sign for my dorm room door to that effect.
Q: Do you play games?
A: Who doesn't?
Q: What sort?
A: RPG's, Muds, scrabble, useless 80's trivia, mille bornes, you name it.
Q: What muds are you currently active on?
A: More of an 'idle' on really. But the main ones these days are: Dino, Druid, Isle, Legacy, Cave, Absolute, Labyrinth, Doofer, Rhostyl, TwilightZone, Evil!, A5, Discordia, Delusions, and probably a few others I've forgotten off the top of my head.
